About:
Doylestown Cemetery is a non-profit, non-denominational burial ground on 33 acres that is located a short walking distance from the heart of the town. It was established in 1849. And burial lots are still available.
During the warm season, walking tours are available (May through October).
It's easy to see this cemetery is attractive and well maintained. Their 2015 Form 990 filing shows they have a little more that $2,000,000 set aside, which is a good sign for the future care of this cemetery. I would not be surprised if they decided to raise prices soon to grow that fund.
Pricing information as of December 2017.
This information can all be found on their website.
Foundation fees are very reasonable at 75 cents per square inch with a minimum $150 charge. So a standard 2 foot by 1 foot flat marker foundation is just $216 as of this writing. This is below average for a Philadelphia area cemetery.
(Foundations are required to prevent the leaning or sinking of tombstones over time.)
Grave opening fees... also reasonably priced compared to other Philadelphia area cemeteries.
$1100 for standard depth
$1300 for double depth
$600 for cremated remains
Those are weekday costs. There is a $200 surcharge for Saturday opening, with the exception of grave openings for cremated remains. This charge is $700 for the work to be done on a Saturday.
Grave lots:
$1150 for a single grave
$2100 for two side by side graves
$2900 for three side by side graves
$3600 for four side by side graves
Small cremation graves, which are 40 inches by 40 inches, cost $550. These accommodate up to two cremation containers.
Large cremation graves, which are 40 inches by 60 inches, cost $800. And up to 4 cremation containers can be buried in these lots.
They also have a memorial garden where un-encased cremated remains can be placed. There is no privilege to mark the grave site. (This is considered a green interment garden.) The cost is $250.
