About:

Philadelphia National Cemetery is located in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. It was established in 1862. It is 13 acres in size. And it is "closed to new interments." The cemetery is nearly full, but it is always possible a reserved space will become available, or remains at a grave might be disinterred, and then that grave site will be available.

The cemetery is open every day from 8:00 a.m. until sunset, (except maybe federal holidays).

The grounds are immaculate. Every stone is straight. Every stone is trimmed. This cemetery is run at a high standard. Frankly, I was very impressed to discover such order and beauty here.

Only members of the armed forces who meet eligibility requirements can be interred here.
