About:
This is a very impressive cemetery. It is well-run by superintendent Chip Miller, who also runs Media Cemetery. I was astonished to find such beauty here. It's a park worthy of a visit, just to see it.
Rolling hills. Mature trees and well-cared-for shrubs add to the attractiveness of this landscape. And there are many old tombstones here that are intriguing works of art.
Pricing as of March 14, 2017:
$1600 for a single grave.
$1600 for a grave opening/closing on a weekday.
$1850 for a double deep (8 feet) grave opening/closing on a weekday.
$250 additional for a grave opening/closing on a weekend.

Foundation fees:
Foundations made of cement are required by most cemeteries to prevent stones from leaning and falling over time.
Maximum size headstone over a single grave at Chester Rural is 24 inches wide. Cost for a 2 foot by 1 foot foundation is $250. This is the minimum charge. Larger foundations set over side by side graves or family plots are calculated at 75 cents per square inch.
