About:

The Media Cemetery was established in 1856. In 1928 it merged with the West Media Cemetery, which was next door, facing Orange Street. When the merger happened, this combined 21 acre cemetery became a non-profit entity.

Today, 7 acres out of the 21 acres remain available for burials

Pricing as of January 2018:

In Memorial Garden Circle:

• Single grave: $1200

• Two grave lot: $2000

This section only allows flat markers. Also, only single depth burials are allowed in Memorial Garden Circle.

Traditional Monument Sections:

• Single grave lot: $1400

• Two grave lot: $2600

• Three grave lot: $3600

Double depth burials are permitted in the traditional monument sections.

Grounds Fees:

• Grave opening and set-up - single depth: $1500

• Grave opening and set-up - double depth: $1750

• Cremation opening and setup: $850

Extra Charges:

• Saturday interments between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon: add $250

• Any interments after 3 p.m. on a weekday or 12 noon on a Saturday will incur an additional charge of $200 per hour.

Sunday burials are not permitted.

• Cumberland Cemetery - poor track record with grounds maintenance.

• Nativity BVM Calvary Cemetery - small Catholic cemetery next door.

• Ohev Sholom Cemetery - nice Jewish cemetery in Brookhaven.

• SS Peter & Paul Cemetery - large Catholic cemetery, well-kept.
