About:

Lawn Croft Cemetery encompasses more than 80 acres. It's big. The family that runs it does a good job. The grounds are well cared for. The stones are straight.

Despite being so close to the oil refineries, the cemetery remains a beautiful and interesting place.

Lawn Croft is a 5th generation family-owned business that has been in existence since 1904. It's clear the operators have high standards and pride in their cemetery. I was impressed with how nice it is.

Take a look at the autumn 2017 photos below. It's really a nice cemetery.

Pricing information as of August 2018:

Grave lots in the "Singles" section are $1750. Double-depth is $1925. With double-depth, besides 2 full burials being permitted, two cremated remains are also allowed. The Singles section allows granite flat markers only.

The price for a 2' x 3' grave in the Cremation section is $1325. This accommodates one urn.

The R and J sections are considered to be newer sections. Upright monuments are permitted to go at the head of the grave in this section as well as granite flat markers at the foot of the grave. In the R and J sections, the purchaser must buy a minimum of 2 side by side graves. The monuments will be positioned at the center of the plot. (This approach makes Sections R and J easier to maintain and gives the cemetery a less cluttered look.) Graves in this section offer the double-deep option at extra cost. Cost for two (2) graves in this section ranges from $3700 to $4000. Each grave is allowed 2 cremated remains.

Sections B, D and E are for single depth graves and this is a bronze flat marker section only. (Bronze flat markers can easily be double or more than the cost of granite flat markers.) Cost for two (2) graves in this section ranges from $3500 to $3800. Each grave allows one casket burial and 2 cremated remains.

Section A is considered more prestigious. And it seems a monument is allowed only on parcels of 4 graves or more. Pricing for Section A ranges from $3800 to $4100 for 2 graves. Double-depth is possible for additional cost.

This cemetery also has mausoleum crypts and mausoleum niches available, plus a columbarium. The columbarium price is $2150. This includes a single niche, weekday open and close, the niche plate, and final date scroll.

A single mausoleum crypt space ranges from $3165 to $5900 depending upon location. Crypts in the middle cost the most. Higher positioned and lower positioned crypts cost less.

Mausoleum niches range from $1010 to $1440.

Opening the grave and closing it costs... $1650 for single depth, $1750 for double depth (8 feet). But if you want this work done on a Saturday, higher prices kick in. It's $2000 for single depth and $2100 for double-depth, if the work is done before noon. There are substantial overtime rates for work that is done beyond noon on Saturdays and also beyond certain hours on weekdays. These rates range between $150 to $300 per half hour. Consult with the cemetery about these extra fees before arranging a burial.

Cremation burials and mausoleum crypt burials are $1200 on weekdays, $1550 on Saturdays before noon. Mausoleum niche burials are $725 on weekdays, $1075 on Saturdays before noon.

When deciding which type of burial to choose, determine whether you want an upright monument or not. If you buy in a flat marker only section and think that you can convince a cemetery to allow an upright in the future... it doesn't work like that. Most cemeteries have strict rules, and Lawn Croft is one of them.
