Methacton Mennonite Cemetery dates back to the 1700's.  There was a huge oak tree here that was believed to be 381 years old. It "toppled to the ground" during the summer of 2017. The tree was special to the folks here.

Schwenkfelders had different ideas about religion. They were persecuted for their religious beliefs and fled their homeland in the 1730's to come to Pennsylvania, a state known for religious freedom. Ten of those original immigrants are buried here.

This is a very quiet neighborhood. Though the cemetery is very old, it appears burial space still exists.
