Towamencin Schwekfelder Cemetery can be most easily accessed by turning on to Hunter Hill Drive from Route 363 and driving into the residential neighborhood. You will see the cemetery on your left.
Some of the original Schwenkfelder exiles are buried here. They were mostly farmers living in an area now controlled by Germany. Schwekfelders were persecuted for their religious beliefs. In the 1730's they fled to Southeastern Pennsylvania - a state known for its religious tolerance and freedom, which also had abundant high quality farming land.
