The Upper Burial Ground in the Germantown section of Philadelphia is an ancient cemetery dating back to the 1700’s. Access to the cemetery is restricted.
St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, which is located in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, is an ancient cemetery that is now in limbo, as the property is up for sale.
Germantown Church of the Brethren Cemetery is so old that it even has the remains of Revolutionary War soldiers. Access to the actual cemetery grounds is difficult. Visitation will need to be coordinated with the church.
Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery is a very small neighborhood cemetery located less than a half block from the church. All the graves are old and it is apparent the cemetery is no longer active with new burials.

Each gate to St. John The Baptist Church Cemetery in Manayunk, Philadelphia is locked shut. The walls surrounding the cemetery are high. Not much can be seen. Grounds maintenance standards here are below average.
St. James The Less Church Cemetery in Philadelphia is quite nice. It sits under a pleasant tree canopy. A private school is also part of the complex.

Cathedral Cemetery in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is large, and well maintained. I was impressed with the beauty of the landscape here. As of Autumn 2017, the church closed permanently. Though the cemetery remains open!
